John had an unique situation that not a lot of people in the nation would have been able to address. He did his research online and eventually called us to see what we could do. John choose Thrasher because he trusted our reputation and had confidence because of the processes that we have in place. Dylan his system specialist did not just give him a piece of paper saying what the price was, he went through exactly what Thrasher was going to do, so that John would understand. John's house was built in 1903 and is part of the National Historical Society. He had inlaid limestone stairs that were sinking. Dylan diagnosed that the problem laid behind the stairs, there was an intentional 4 ft void that the builders left because it had bracing in two parts in the middle. The support brace had failed and the stairs were sinking and cracking, the span was too great for the limestone to handle. John's goals were to preserve the stairs so that they wouldn't get worse and to lift them back into place so that looked the way they should. Thrasher helped achieve these goals by injecting PolyLevel between the stairs to fill the large void and reduce the amount of weight on the bracing, preventing the limestone from getting worse. We were able to lift the stairs so that they looked level.
The worry of radon in the home is starting to become increasingly widespread in homeowners. Cindy J. was curious as to what the radon levels were in her home. After picking up a charcoal test at her local hardware store, she found out her radon levels were much too high. The EPA suggest that the radon levels be below 4 pCi/L, Cindy's level was 11.8. After seeing a sign from Thrasher Basement Systems in a neighbors yard, she gave them a call.
Radon specialist Kyle Surface come out to her Fremont home to give an estimate for a radon mitigation system. Soon after, Jason Jones was out to install the system that will help get the harmful, dangerous gases away from the home through piping. Radon fans are special inline models that are designed to run continuously, doing so without consuming much power or making a lot of noise.
Cindy is happy that she decided to do the radon test, because she no longer has to worry about the air quality in her home and whether she is breathing in unsafe levels of radon.
Homeowner Ron Y. was having problems with water seeping in through the walls of his basement. The water was starting to dampen some boxes he had stored down there. This problem was a nuisance to him and he needed to get something done to make the walls dry again and keep any water that enters the basement away from the usable areas. After visiting a home show, he went onto Thrasher Basement System's website. He really liked the options he saw so he decided to give them a call.
Kraig Schjodt came out to giver Ron a free estimate and to discuss all options. The best plan was to have foreman Mel Martinez and his crew come out to install the CleanSpace wall liner that would guide any water that seeps in through the was to the WaterGuard perimeter drain that he will install as well. The WaterGuard would then direct that water to a TripleSafe sump pump. The Triple Safe they installed is quite possibly the best pump on the market with a second pump and an addition battery back up pump standing by to take over in the event of a power outage.
With this system in place, Ron no longer has the worry of water intrusion in his basement. Thrasher Basement Systems leaves another customer delighted again!
Fremont homeowners David & Jody J. were having a problem with one of their old rusty window wells. It was slowly leaking water into their basement. The basement already had a humidity problem, so water dripping in was just adding to the problem. David & Jody really wanted to get both issues resolved. So they decided to give Thrasher Basement Systems a call.
Kyle Walter (basement specialist) come out to their home to give a free estimate and concluded that the best course of action was to replace the current window well with a SunHouse window well and install a SaniDry dehumidifier to get rid of the humidity in the basement. The SunHouse well will protect the basement windows, keeping away water, weeds & other debris. The SaniDry removes any excess moisture from the air to keep the basement mold and mildew free.
Jody & Dave were very happy with the work that Thrasher did on their home and would recommend them to anyone who asks!
